Visit your garden/advice on exotics
There is a house on the sea front at Kessingland that has just had a large delivery of exotics.
Some of the Trachycarpus palms must be 15 feet tall. They are going to last 5 minutes if planted
in this situation and the owner has wasted a huge amount of money on WRONG PLANTS FOR THE WRONG LOCATION.
A quick visit from somebody like me would have saved him a fortune as well as hopefully getting the correct advice and planting exotics like Cordylines and Phormiums,
which are much better suited to a full on winter Easterly gale.
A well known gardening columnist in the Telegraph was telling us recently in her advice page, that Phormiums are no good in our climate.
I wonder if anybody has told that to the 20 huge specimens in my garden. Or the countless thousands of other thriving Phormiums,
growing happily all over these isles, as happy here as they are in their original home in New Zealand!!
Moral of the story.......take care who you take advice from!!
So far these very reasonable consultations have taken place in Southwold, Walberswick and the like here in Suffolk, and others in London.
A brief visit can be arranged. Alternatively, half days to full days can be arranged, and these visits could save you a lot of money in the long run.
