Night/winter walks

Have spent quite a few quid on getting electricity around the garden, to my buildings etc. As a result their are lights all around the garden. As you can imagine, this can look quite magical at night or at dusk. In fact some of my summer evening events have overrun to the extent that I have been able to put the lights on at the end of the event.

We had our first winter walk just before Christmas 2008. It really was a foul day and not for the faint hearted. We had a few cancellations giving some "girls blouse" excuses about them having flu and the fact it was near minus conditions with sleet to boot!! The rest of us soldiered on, retiring to the summerhouse which is heated and had our tea and cake in there. It was still very interesting I think for people to see the bare bones of the garden minus some big leaves and a few tender plants. It was also the idea to show off the "fleece free" nature of the garden as I always said it was!!
